Right. Now, this contains two things. One thing i really love. And one thing i really really despise.

The link below takes you to a video from some nature documentary, and it has some beautiful and amazing footage of a very large Octopus. . .

What it also has, is a kind of badly-constructed, patronising-to-the-point-of-offensiveness, tacked-on, 'narrative', presumably in an attempt to inject some drama into the footage.

'Oh my HAT'??

Why is it that virtually every programme of this type has to contain lines to the effect of;
' We've been out here filming for many hours, with no sign of the InsertAnimalNameHere, but, SUDDENLY, just as the light was fading/film was running out/batteries were failing!.......'

Ok. I've just watched it again, and it's really not bad compared to some I've seen. I've been a little harsh.

I suppose i just want these people to present their beautiful footage, with some explanation, while avoiding all the unecessary drama, anthropomorphism, and bullshit.

We are not retarded, people. Stick to the visuals and the facts. Nature docs are not, thankfully, Eastenders, so stop trying to make em so.

Rant over.
